The gripman, beit said to his credit, hasent any time to flirt. He leavesthat for the rear platform but, nevertheless, good friendsof the gentler sex are made by courtesies that cost nothingand that are neither impudent nor imprudent. School girls giggling, prim and otherwise, soonlearn to know the gripman, and as for dogs, horsesand signs along the streets we know them very shortly.Especially the dogs, which have an insane idea that theycan run under a moving car and not loose some jointsof their graceful tail or their wildly-flapping ears. Butif you fellows want to hear a dog story just wait for mynext trip. A NEAT FREIGHT CAR. WE here illustrate a freight car used by theLynn & Boston Railroad for carrying sup-plies from one part of the system to another.It is very much like a steam road freight car except thatit has an 18 inch platform for the motorman to stand on.
