Description
Español: Representación de Fray León de San José, mártir agustino recoleto nacido en Peraleda de la Mata, España (1708) y muerto en Filipinas (1740-41). Sus atributos son la palma del martirio y la cruz de misionero, de la que pende una campanita que representa al Concejo de la Campana de la Mata, que era el nombre del Ayuntamiento o mancomunidad a la que pertenecía su pueblo natal.
English: Drawing depicting Brother Leon de San José, an Augustinian Recollect martyr born in Peraleda de la Mata, Spain (1708) and killed in the Philippines (1740-41). His attributes are the palm of martyrdom and the cross of missionary with a little bell tied to it, representing the "Concejo de la Campana" (lit. the Council of the Bell), where he was born.
