Description |
Italiano: "The painting is part of a series of half-figure portraits of the children of Marie de' Medici and Henry IV of France, made by the Flemish painter after his move to Paris (1609), probably to be sent as gifts to Florence. Christina of France (1606-1663) is portrayed here at the age of four or five. The third-born daughter of Henry IV of France, she married Victor Amadeus I of Savoy, becoming his widow in 1637. The canvas has been on display in the gallery since 1988." [1] |
