Description
This is a picture of Franklin Park showing the lake and an early building. In 1852, 88 acres of land was purchased by the Franklin County Agriculture Society for the Franklin County Fair. In 1884, the State Legislator passed a resolution declaring it Franklin park and open to the public. In 1893 a grand Victorian-style glass greenhouse was built. It was opened to the public in 1895 and the became known as Franklin Park Conservatory.
