Description
Deutsch: Frankfurt-Bockenheim, Bahnhof Frankfurt/Main-West. Der Bahnhof wurde 1848 als Bahnhof Bockenheim an der Strecke der Main-Weser-Bahn (Frankfurt–Kassel) errichtet. Er wurde nach einem Entwurf von Julius Eugen Ruhl mit einem relativ aufwändigen Empfangsgebäude im Stil der Neorenaissance, einschließlich eines besonderen Aufenthaltsbereichs für den Kurfürsten, ausgestattet. Der Personen- und Güterbahnhof war die entscheidende Infrastrukturmaßnahme für die Industralisierung des kurhessischen Bockenheims. Von hier ging ein Nebengleis in das Industriequartier Somlsstraße, ein anderes führte über die Nassauer Straße (spätere Adalbertstraße) bis zur Bockenheimer Warte. Das Gebäude wurde 1944 durch Bombentreffer zerstört und wurde als reiner Zweckbau verändert neu errichtet.
