Unter den unzähligen Varianten, die das Franka-Werk von ihrem 6x6-Erfolgs-Modell „Solida“ herstellte, bildete diese „Solida Record B“ das Schlusslicht. Weiter oben stand die gut ausgestattete Solida III. Die Solida Record kam mit nur einer Moment-Zeit (1/30) und „B“ aus, besaß aber drei Blenden (8, 11, 16) und das „Spezial-Objektiv 1:8/80“ war wahrscheinlich ein Zweilinser. Die Entfernung war einstellbar. Hervorzuheben sind aber zwei Ausstattungsmerkmale: Die Blende war keine Lochblende, sondern bestand aus Lamellen, ungewöhnlich in dieser Preisklasse. Das andere war die Möglichkeit, durch eine einlegbare Maske (ist bei meiner noch dabei) auch 4x4-cm-Negative anzufertigen. Man bekam so 4 Bilder mehr heraus und konnte auch Dias anfertigen, die noch in 5x5-cm-Rahmen passten („Super-Slides“). Bemerkenswert ist auch, dass fast alle Kamerateile aus Bayreuth, dem Standort des Franka-Werkes, stammten: Das Objektiv war von Steiner/Bayreuth, den Verschluss entwickelte Franka selbst und der Balgen wurde von Kreher/Bayreuth gefertigt. Die Franka Solida Record B kam 1958 auf den Markt und wurde in drei Jahren 78000 mal verkauft. Der Preis war 33,- DM. Die gesamte „Solida“-Produktion belief sich von 1951 bis 1961 auf fast 448000 6x6-Kameras. Die Informationen zu dieser Kamera entnahm ich der lesenswerten Broschüre von Bernd Arnal: „Fotogeräte und -Zubehör aus Oberfranken - eine Spurensuche / Teil 1: Das Franka-Kamerawerk“, herausgegeben von der Regierung von Oberfranken. Auf camerapedia gibt's einen umfangreichen Franka-Beitrag, in dem sehr viele Franka-Kameras zu sehen sind. |
