Three Thompsonville Men Are Wounded Letter Received From Soldiers In Hospitals. (Special to The Courant.) Thompsonville, Connecticut; October 22, 1918. Word received by relatives here through letters from the front indicate that at least three Thompsonvllle soldiers, not yet officially reported by the war department, are recuperating at hospitals In France. A letter from Private Frank Cardaropoli, son of Mr. and Mrs. Saivatore Cardaropoli of No. 30 Thompson court, states that the young man is recovering at a base hospital from the effects of gas poisoning. Although he was seriously ill, he expects to be able soon to get back to the front. A priest, writing for Private Martin J. Tierney, from a hospital in France, says that he is recovering at the hospital, but no information is given as to why the young man was taken there and it is not known whether he was wounded or only sick. Private Jerry Boucher, who was reported seriously wounded by the war department in the July drive, is again in the hospital, this time because of a shrapnel wound in the leg. This information is contained on a post card sent, by the young soldier. This makes the third time that Private Boucher has been wounded.
