Español: Retrato del rey Francisco I de las Dos Sicilias (1777-1830), que fue rey de las Dos Sicilias entre 1825 y 1830 y era hijo de Fernando I de las Dos Sicilias y de María Carolina de Austria. Esta obra hace pareja con un retrato de su esposa, la reina María Isabel de Borbón, que también se conserva en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, y ambos, cuyas replicas fueron enviadas a la Corte del reino de Nápoles, fueron encargados a Vicente López con el deseo de perpetuar su memoria y también con ocasión del matrimonio de su hija, María Cristina de Borbón, con el rey Fernando VII de España, de cuya unión nacerían la reina Isabel II de España y la infanta Luisa Fernanda de Borbón. El monarca viste un uniforme azul y luce los collares de la Orden de San Jenaro, que estaba vinculada al reino de Nápoles y de la que era gran maestre, y de la Orden del Toisón de Oro, y su mano derecha descansa sobre un bastón mientras que con la izquierda tiene sujeta la parte superior de la vaina de su sable, cubierto de joyas. |
