Fragment of a medieval D-shaped buckle
Description
English: A fragment of a medieval copper-alloy buckle. The fragment consists of the frame from a D-shaped buckle, probably dating from the mid 13th to early 15th century AD. The frame is sub-oval and has a wide outer edge with a central pin slot, and a recessed axis bar of circular section. The pin is wound around the axis bar and is made of flattened copper-alloy wire. Overall, the object measures 17.2mm high by 14.6mm wide and 4.1mm thick on its outer edge. It weighs 2.64g.
