Description
English: Fragment of a medieval or post-medieval purse bar or pendant frame. Fragment is convex and decorated with incised cross-hatched lines containing traces of niello. A single sewing hole has survived along the length. It measures 39mm long, 10mm wide, is 9mm thick and weighs 11.2g. Similar pendant frames can be found in Read, B. 2001. Metal Artefacts of Antiquity, Volume 1, page 124, figure 84, refs 907-909.
