Description
English: Fragment of Roman samian ware. This fragment represents a section of rim and small part of the body of a vessel of Ludowici 36 form. It is subtriangular in plan, 42.24mm long, 60.64mm wide and weighs 13.55g. It has a pink to orange fabric with the fragmentary remains of the red slip. It is probably part of a vessel imported from central Gaul in the 2nd century AD.See Hartley in Collingwood and Richmond, 1969, The archaeology of Roman Britain, page 247.
