Fragment from a medieval D-shaped buckle
Description
English: A fragment from a medieval copper-alloy buckle. The object consists of one side of a rectangular plate and part of the pin from a D-shaped buckle of mid 13th to early 15th century date. The plate measures 21.7mm long by 13mm wide and 0.8mm thick. It has a hole at the centre of the top edge, in which is located the lower half of the copper-alloy wire pin. A second hole is located at the centre of the opposite end of the plate and would originally have held a rivet. The object is bent and corroded. It weighs 2.22g.
