Català: Fragment del mosaic de la vil·la Petrària, museu Dámaso Navarro, Petrer.
El mosaic va aparèixer casualment l'11 de setembre de 1975 en unes obres del carrer de la Constitució, i pot correspondre a part d'un pati circular de les dependències circulars senyorials de la vil·la Petrària. Pel seu disseny i característiques es data entre mitjan del segle IV i principis del segl.e V dC. Es conserva fragmentat en dues parts i és un paviment amb decoració geomètrica fabricat en opus tessellatum, amb tessel·les quadrangulars de color blanc i beix que fan de base, negre que actua com a marc de les figures geomètriques, i roig i groc de farcit. S'aprecien dues composicions geomètriques: la primera la formen octagons secants i adjacents formant quadrats flanquejats d'octàgons que presenten internament altres quadres o hexàgons de dimensions més reduïdes. Aquesta composició geomètrica es distorsiona per a adaptar-se a la inflexió de l'espai arquitectònic on va col·locat. La segona composició són cercles secants formant quadrats curvilinis que contenen uns altres similars de dimensions més reduïdes amb tessel·les dels mateixos colors. |
