Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Hunting with dogs has been a cornerstone of the community for 30,000 years, then suddenly a rushed and political (not scientific) parliamentary procedure banned it overnight. The huntsman in red controls and aids the hounds, he will hunt with about 16 couple (32) of hounds, these are hill hounds, there are roughly 5 types of hound for hunting different landscapes. The field (behind) pay to come hunting and enjoy following and watching the hounds work and riding their horses and jumping jumps, across farms that the farmers have given permission for the hunt to come over. Many others follow in cars and bicycles and quads, like the horses they enjoy watching the hounds and seeing any other wildlife that makes an appearance during the day. There are many rural people especially retired older generation individuals who would really struggle in life without the community and friendship of the hunting community. Hunting generally occurs in winter from September to March. There have been widespread declines in foxes and other animals that were once hunted with dogs simply because these animals went from game to pest overnight as a result they are now eradicated with lower welfare methods such as shooting and trapping.. There has yet to be any evidence (scientific or reasonable) to ban the culture, legislation was used to discriminate a minority on a moral issue, if this happened with another minority it would be classed as racist and would not be tolerated. Hounds work as nature intended a predator to work whereby they most often kill the weak and sick animals leaving a healthier population of animals (foxes, deer, hares,...) left. Misinformation and speculation (and a few bad people/practices in the community) have given many people the opinion that hunting with dogs is bad.
