Summary
[edit]DescriptionFour small kneeling statues.jpg |
Four small kneeling statues of Hatshepsut, Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, c. 1503-1482 B.C. Red granite statues at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City. Four of eight statues recovered at Deir el-Bahri, Thebes; inscriptions indicate that there were at least twelve originally. These represent Hatshepsut as a male king wearing the khat headdress, and holding a lustration vessel that has the hieroglyph for "stability." The museum normally has five of these figures on display; one was temporarily removed the day this picture was taken. |
