The press comes from the opera "Antiquities of Sicily" containing plates engraved by Bartolomeo Pinelli and drawn by John Goldicutt. The work was published in London in 1819. The print is in good condition, only some slight halo on margins. Engraved daBartolomeo Pinelli. Painter, draftsman, engraver and modeller. Born in Rome on November 20, 1781, he died in Rome on April 1st 1835. He began his studies at the Academy of St. Luke and them continues to Bologna where he became famous quickly. He returned to Rome and began to produce a significant amount of drawings and prints. It provides illustrations for the works of Virgil, Dante, Tasso, Cervantes and 'Aretino. In 1809 published the first "Collection of colorful costumes" made up of 50 tables which followed other collections always on the customs of Rome and numerous other works.
