English: Fossil in cliffs at Roome Rocks A fossil of Stigmaria ficoides in an exposed bedding plane (50 pence for scale). This is the fossilized root of the tree Lepidodendron. The round nodules visible along its length mark the location of former sub root joints around the larger root. |
