DescriptionFortier Fest 2013.jpg |
New Orleans. It's festival season again, and I'm struggling to suppress a yawn. I'm not into the big festivals, like French Quarter Fest or the Mega Huge New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest presented by Big Oil. For year's I've felt sort of like a springtime Scrooge for my lack of enthusiasm. What's wrong with me anyhow? I think of myself as a festive person. I like the idea of a festival. Maybe it's the scale of those big festivals that's off-putting. So with hopeful heart I headed to Fortier Fest. This is a small, one-night festival in a beautiful location, and everything was just about perfect. Nice crowd, live music, awesome weather. Yawn. Oops, sorry, did I just do that again? I'm really sorry. I don't know what my problem is. My quest for festive enthusiasm continues. |
