Português: O Forte D. Pedro II localiza-se na zona norte da cidade, ao final da Rua Ulhoa Cintra, Caçapava do Sul-RS, Brasil.
Possui a forma de um polígono hexagonal e suas paredes construídas em pedra e cal têm a altura de 8 a 10 metros, com mais de um metro de espessura. Sua área é de 27.000m² na parte externa e 19.000m² na parte interna. A ideia era fortificar a Vila de Caçapava, por julgar iminente a invasão de nossas fronteiras. Em 1848, o General Soares de Andréa, Presidente da Província e comandante das armas, com consentimento do Governo Imperial, iniciou a construção do Forte, em terreno adquirido pela Fazenda Nacional de Manuel Lourenço de Brito. O Forte que tomou o nome de Forte Dom Pedro II, teve o seu projeto feito pelo próprio Gal. Andréa, que possuía os cursos de matemática, astronomia, navegação e engenharia militar. Sua construção se desenvolveu num bom ritmo até 17 de fevereiro de 1850, quando o Gal. Andréa foi substituído. Daí em diante as obras prosseguiram lentamente até dezembro de 1856, quando pararam definitivamente.
