DescriptionFort Vancouver Fur Warehouse.jpg | What used to be the nerve center of the fort, the Fur Warehouse was where beaver (and other animal) pelts were brought from the field, purchased or traded, bundled and prepared for shipping to England. Special tours include the fur warehouse replica which shows the intricate ways furs were traded and shipped. The main portion of the building today houses the archeological center for the fort. Visitors can watch as archeologists work on preserving and cataloging finds in the digs conducted at the fort and in its environs. Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Washington |
