This Monument, shart 101 ft. 4 in. high, was erected in honor of Maj.-Gen. St. Clair's defeat, Nov. 4, 1791, and Maj.-Gen. Wayne, who succeeded St. Clair as commander, Dec. 23, 1793, on the site of the St. Clair defeat. Fort Recovery, Ohio From left to right-F. E. Gates, Herman Kappes, E. J. Strewing, J. F. Adams and W. F. Pausch.
