Summary

[edit]
Description

A five image HDR showing the colors on the stone walls inside this old fort built at the time of the war between the states. There had been lots of rain an as a result much seepage of water through the two story building. The walls are made of granite blocks and the arched ceiling is lined with bricks.

Fort Popham is named for George Popham, the English founder of the nearby Popham Colony in 1607. It was abandoned after one year and the colonists returned to

Europe aboard the small ship built in this area named the Virginia.
