Description

Fort Leicester, Bouley Bay. Commanding the western end of the bay, this defensive position has its origins in Elizabethan times and is named after the Queen's favourite, the Earl of Leicester.
Then it was just an open battery with a demi-culverin type of cannon.

The present construction dates from the 1830s when it was equipped with five heavy cannon with 30 men and one officer.
