| Description |
This is the largest of three shelters for the troops of the air-defence in the grounds above Fort Furggels. It is located east of the armored turret gun no. 2. The shelter has two entrances, one on the south side and one on the north side. The entrances are concreted and with armored doors, but the rest consists of raw rock. The facilities belong to the farmers who bought the land and are usually locked. This central shelter has been under water for some time now and cannot be used as storeroom. During the construction of the fort, there was the idea to build a second observation dome on this hill. With an access from the tunnel to the armored turret no. 2. But that was never done. There were rumors that a part of the work had already started, but I did not find anything. In this group of trees on the photo, the entrance on the south side is hidden.
