| Description | This was the former heart of the fortress, the «KP Südfront», also called «Artilleriezentrale». In this room was the commander southern front and chief of artillery. Not even the current owner was aware to the importance of this room. From here, the fort was commanded in combat centrally. That part of the fortress was so secret that also senior officers of other service branches had no access. The real secret in here were the maps and charts on the walls and on tables with the firing positions and the drawings of the non-accessible areas for the guns. I came rarely in this area during my term of service, to operate the communication facilities as an assistance during maneuvers and when it was shot with the bunker guns. At one of last modifications in the fortress, the whole plant were laid in the gas-proof lower area for security reasons and decentralized in several rooms. For the caliber 15 cm guns there was an own fire control center in the vicinity of the guns and it is now a gun workshop.
