Ein 1,3 Tonnen schweres Beschleunigerexponat wird extra für den "Sommer des Wissens" auf den Rathausplatz gebracht.DESY-Forscherinnen und -Forscher erklären am Modell einer supraleitenden Eisenbahn, wie Supraleitung funktioniert und wie sie für die Beschleunigung von Teilchen verwendet wird. Neugierige können das Licht der Zukunft auch virtuell erleben: Mit einer VR-Brille können sie durch den Röntgenlaser European XFEL spazieren. Oder sie tauchen in einer Virtual Experience spielerisch in die DESY-Forschungswelt ein.Der Sommer des Wissens bringt vier Tage lang die Wissenschaft ins Herz der Hansestadt Hamburg.
