Murano, ITA - La lavorazione del vetro a Murano è un’arte antica, ancora attuale, e gli artigiani di Murano ne hanno fatto un’arte: il vetro artistico è ormai un oggetto ricercato e a Murano ha raggiunto i livelli più alti di fantasia produttiva. La produzione di vetri artistici a Murano è ancora interamente artigianale, con processi produttivi così spettacolari che la visita alle fornaci è diventata una delle mete turistiche obbligate di Venezia. Esistono molte tecniche di lavorazione artigianale per i vetri artistici, ciascuno più adatto per particolari oggetti. L'artigiano del vetro può soffiare il vetro, lavorarlo alla fiamma oppure creare vetrate con forni che raggiungono la temperatura di fusione inglobando nella lastra base il motivo creato con vetri di colore diverso. È anche possibile tagliare il vetro con seghe al diamante e lucidarne le superfici. Oggi come in passato, il vetro viene prodotto dalla composizione di sabbia e silice che, che portata a una temperatura di circa 1700 gradi centigradi, diventa liquida per poi tornare allo stato solido solo intorno ai 500 gradi. |
