Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Formerly, The Cow Inn, Nevill Street. Thought to have been built about 1600 as a town house for the Vaughan family. At that time, it would then have been a half-timbered building - gable end towards the street and first floor jettied out. The house became the Cow Inn in 1780, when alterations were made and the carved cow heads which you can see under the eaves, were probably added. It was used as an inn until the 1860s.
