| Description |
English: Former school on Highholm Avenue. Opened as Highholm Higher Grade School in 1909, became Port Glasgow High School in 1927. Later became St Stephen's Junior Secondary and then St Stephen's High School. Latest iteration was Highholm Primary which closed when the new Newark Primary school opened at Boglestone in August 2008 572902. See also 957223.
As St Stephen's High, the library was on the ground floor in the foreground, the technical classes were on the ground floor in the more modern extension beyond, with the science and domestic science classroms above them. This was the Boys playground, the Girls playground was on the other side of the building. |
