| Description |
English: Former Presbyterian Hostel, Belfast (detail). The Presbyterian War Memorial Hostel, at the corner of Howard Street and Brunswick Street, was built in 1922-25 and provided BB&EM accommodation for young Presbyterians working or studying in Belfast. The bombing campaign meant that many were reluctant to live in central Belfast (although changing social attitudes were probably a factor too) and the place closed. It is now in secular use. This is the detail above the Brunswick Street entrance. Continue to 1388378. |
