Summary
[edit]DescriptionFormer Observation Post - geograph.org.uk - 821996.jpg |
English: Former Observation Post The grey concrete box set in the cliffs is a World War Two observation post and accessed via a tunnel from Newhaven Fort. The holes in the cliff were made by a shingle hoist used during the original construction of the fort in 1864. The concrete to the left has come from the cliff top via a landslip and was part of the World War Two defences. Taken from the site of the former refreshment bar whose floor tiling is still prominent. |
