English: Former Military Camp Bodmin Cornwall This sign is on the B.3268 (Lostwithiel Rd.) heading out of Bodmin. The overbridge carries the Bodmin & Wensford Railway between Bodmin General & Bodmin Parkway (formerly Bodmin Road) stations.
Walker Lines is the name of a former "temporary" military camp constructed to house troops preparing for the D-Day landings. After the war it continued in use for several years by various British military units, including the Royal Army Education Corps. As a National Serviceman the photographer attended a training course there between September & December 1949. See also picture of its re-development |
