| Description |
English: Former Green Dragon Pub There was a pub here from at least 1806. The front (with checkered brickwork) on Newtown Road is an 1860 extension. Round the corner in Bellgarth Road, the 2nd gable end belonged the original old pub. (Information from "Carlisle Breweries and Public Houses 1894-1916" by Steven Davidson, 2004).The Green Dragon had a reputation as a rough pub, and closed down in the late 1990's. We believe it became a cafe for a short time after that. |
