Description
Español: Edificio de estilo regionalista del antiguo hotel Caleta Palace, en el número 64 de Paseo de Sancha, Málaga, España, visto desde el paseo marítimo Pablo Ruiz Picasso. Fue diseñado en su origen por Fernando Guerrero Strachan en la década de los 20 del siglo XX para servir de establecimiento hotelero. Posteriormente, a partir de 1943, funcionó como Sanatorio 18 de Julio. Actualmente (2024), es la sede de la Subdelegación del Gobierno en Málaga. Se trata de un edificio protegido por el Ayuntamiento de Málaga bajo el grado de protección Arquitectónica I. Su valor patrimonial es tanto arquitectónico como histórico, ya que es uno de los escasos hoteles burgueses de la época que se conservan. Tiene una planta en forma de L, con tres alturas sobre zócalo de piedra que acoge un semisótano. Cuenta con apliques cerámicos, tejas vidriadas, escuadras y canes de madera y balaustradas. Su entrada principal desde el Paseo de Sancha está precedida por un gran patio ajardinado y cuenta con un dosel de inspiración modernista sobre columnas toscanas a modo de porche. En su última rehabilitación se cambió el color de sus paramentos exteriores, originalmente de color blanco.[1]
