Description
English: Forest or park above the village Vágur in Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. Trees don't grow wild in the Faroe Islands because of the many sheep. Parks with trees need to have fence all around in order to protect the trees from the sheep. The trees in this park have been planted since 1956. It was the town council of Vágur which decided back in 1956 that they would plant trees in this area, which covers 30.100 m² in the valley of Hvannadalur.
Føroyskt: Viðarlundin í Vági varð plantað í 1956 (og seinni). Vágbingar nevna oftast viðarlundina "Plantasjan". Vágs Býráð avgjørdi í 1956 at planta trøð einum øki á 13.100 m² til eina viðarlund. Vágs Býráð hevur fingið stuðul til at fríðka um viðarlundina, ein gøta varð tá gjørd inni í viðarlundini og borð og benkur eru sett upp niðast í viðarlundini. Hvanndalsá rennur beint vestanfyri viðarlundina.
