Female with beak (seen from above) narrowcTto beyond the middle, but with shorter and broaderterminal hook. Hab., Philippine and Sula Islands. Mr. J. Whiteheiid (The Ihh. 1899, p. 396) says: Met with throughout the entire archipelago, but,curiously enough, we never noticed a single Cockatoo inthe valley of the Rio Grande. Dm-ing our expedition tothe Province of Isabella, the natives told m<t- that thisspecies was not known to them ; and also during my tripto Cape Engano in the north-easit of Luzon, we found itabsent. So perhaps this species does net pass the highmountains which divide Luzon at 16 deg. longitude.He does not describe the wEd life of the bird.
