The 30 yr probability and the magnitude estimated by HERP are given on the map. The rectangles A, B and C show the fault planes for the three scenario earthquakes, similar to the 1896 Sanriku earthquake, the 1933 Sanriku earthquake, and the Compound Offshore Miyagi prefecture earthquake, respectively, near Iwate and Miyagi prefectures."
