Summary
[edit]DescriptionForbury Gardens, Reading - Berkshire.jpg |
English: Forbury Gardens is a public park in the town of Reading in the English county of Berkshire. The park is on the site of the outer court of Reading Abbey, which was in front of the Abbey Church. Fairs were held on the site three times a year until the early 1800s. The more recent St. James Catholic Church can be seen in the left background, whilst St James School is to the right of it. The remaining ruins of Reading Abbey can just be glimpsed behind the fountain and to the right of the school; a pedestrian tunnel links the gardens with them. |
