| Description |
English: Footpath. The photograph shows a footpath that runs along the eastern bank of Miller's Pond.
'Between the footpath and the pond the horse chestnut (conker) trees are suffering from a fungal disease called phytophora. This kills the tree very quickly and makes the branches liable to drop. In the interest of public safety, the National Trust are felling the trees and leaving the trunk to rot down for insects. This area will be planted with different tree species when the horse chestnut trees have been felled.' Quoted text taken from a notice displayed by the National Trust.
