English: Footpath The photograph shows a footpath that is a diversion running through a copse off the Five Pits Trail. The footpath continues ahead and left. Ahead and right this footpath is joined by another from Locko Lane Farm.
This copse is growing on reclaimed industrial (railway) land adjacent to opencast workings that have also been reclaimed. Although, superficially well reclaimed with realistic contours, the ground is poor. Drainage is very limited, the ground is hard and during wet weather, substantial amounts of water rest on the surface causing the top inch or so to become very muddy. At times this path is not for the fainthearted! To see the northern (ahead, left) entrance to the copse from the trail, click here 339849.
