| Description |
English: Footbridge under construction at Pebble Ford, New Forest. This new bridge with approach walkways is being constructed at Pebble Ford, between Pig Bush (visible in the distance) and Rowbarrow, just east of the Bishop of Winchester's Purlieu. The old footbridge crossed Shepton Water, but the approaches to the bridge were often flooded and very muddy, hence the construction of the new walkways (which have large diameter pipes passing underneath them to allow water through during the frequent flooding of this wet heathland). |
