| Description |
English: Footbridge in Sled Dale This footbridge, whilst convenient for walkers, was actually unhelpful to the photographer, as it had lost all its snow and he had to take his skis off to cross the beck. Rough boggy moorland like this is often a lot more pleasant to cross when the ground is frozen and snow-covered, as this avoids that squishy sinking feeling, and skis make the downhills very quick. This shallow valley is labelled Sled Dale on the map, but the beck is Deepdale Beck and the valley changes into Deepdale by the time it reaches SD9715. |
