Summary

[edit]
Description

This building was part of the George Freeland Peter Estate. Constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, it was typical of estates along Rockville Pike in Bethesda, Maryland. The Stone House was the site of Dr. Armistead Peter's summer home "Winona". The architect was Walter G. Peter, FAIA. When the Wilson family donated their land to NIH for biomedical research, this building was included. It currently serves as the Fogarty International Center.
