| Description |
English: One of the most exciting highways in America is CA Hwy 1 which runs along (and I do mean ALONG) the Padific Coast. It is a windy road, rising as you go north, and falling as you go south. Going south is the more exiciting route as you are in the lane next to the dropoffs. The ride starts at sea level in Morrow Bay and goes up hundreds of feet above the crashing waves in the Big Sur area. If you look closely, you can see the headlights of a car traveling north where the highway cuts a notch in the mountain on the left. Sometimes we were on the road when the fog took away some of the view, but it makes for an interesting picture. (Scanned from a slide.) |
