Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Whilst we were all sitting against a Carr Stone wall munching bananas, en route to Kings Lynn Youth Hostel, I spotted this highly photogenic Foden tipper in a side turning. I just had to jump up and take its picture. Nobody else moved.

Middleton still operates operates gravel pits at Blackborough End and Pentney near Kings Lynn, extracting the Pleistocene interglacial sand and gravel deposits in the Nar valley, but tends to favour Scania products today.

At nearby Leziate is Britain's biggest deposit of Silica Sand, which produces over half of the UK's clear bottle and sheet glass,a rare resource. This is worked by Sibelco.
