Meu, preparedthe turkey that we had purchased at Kitty Hawkfor cooking, by stutling it with the oysters thatwe had tonged at Eoanoke Island. By the timethis culinary feat was accomplished, our master offish culture had returned. What a change came over the spirit of our sail-ing, from the boisterous violence and rough seasthat beat our vessels sides turbulently, or followedus fiercely to the scarcely ruffled bosom of the smalland shallow bay, only a few miles wide, and shut inon all sides by the land. We managed to reachLewiss Creek before sunset, where we saw a numberof working boats going to find securi
