and other objects, with architectural frag-ments taken from various convents and destroyed build-ings, representing almost every phase of Tuscan art instone from the thirteenth to the sixteenth centuries.The second hall, opening out from this, possesses someof the finest works of the Tuscan sculptors, and almostevery object preserved in this room is worthy of closeattention. Opposite the entrance is the extremelybeautiful Chimney-piece (No. 112) from the Roselli delTurco Palace, one of the masterpieces of Benedetto daRovezzano, which has even given the name of DelCamino to the whole room. By the same master arealso the two elaborate marble niches with their massesof ornamentation from the Palazzo Cepparelli, which.are fixed on either side of the entrance. GEORGEFrom the marble statue by Dana telle in the Museo Nazionale /• 243 J> MUSEO NAZIONALE 243 by the Spanish soldiery in 1530, these little scenes inmarble are most remarkable for their exquisite finish andnumerous figures.
