BEAUTY. This Rose has become as fa- mous as Marechal Niel. The flowers of this grand Rose are so eagerly sought that they sell in the flower stores of the larger cities during the holiday season at the extravagant price of from one dollar and a half to two dol- lars for a single bud or flower. Indeed, the market is never fully supplied with them, even at this high price. Why is this? There must be a reason. It is because of its large size, rich color and delicious fragrance. One of its chief attractions is its foliage (see illustration from photo- graph), which will show you what long, stiff stems and heavy foliage it can be cut with. It is a hardy Rose, of the largest size, having the ever-blooming qual- ities of the Tea Rose, with the delicious odor of the Damask or Moss Rose. It is the sweeetest of all Roses. In color it is a deep, brilliant red, shading to a rich, carmine crimson. Ameri- can Beauty is like Marechal Neil, difficult to start from small plants; therefore we advise our customers to buy strong plants of it. This Rose will never be sold cheaply, for the reason it is hard to propagate. For young plants, 35 cents each; large two - year - old plants, 75 cents each. We advise the planting of the larger size. THE ROYAL ROSE, Princess Bonnie. The Brightest, Sweetest, Freest-blooming Rose in Existence. Princess Bonnie is one of the loveliest of the new ever- blooming Roses. It has no superior and very few equals. Its color is something inde- scribable. A richer, deeper crimson was never seen in a Rose, while its fragrance is even more subtle and delicate than that of La France. It is a pro- fuse bloomer and as easy of cul- tivation as the most ordinary Rose. Indeed, one finds in Prin- cess Bonnie every attribute one ) ongs for in the Rose, and it might well be called the perfec- tion Rose. 15 cents each; large two-year-old plants, 50 cents each.

THE MAGNIFICENT PRIZE ROSE, American Belle. This Rose is a pink sport from American Beauty, and is the grandest acquisition to the Rose family in many years. The color of the flower is a deep, clear pink, almost red. The delightful fragrance of the Beauty, the sweetest of any known, is also possessed by the Belle in an equal degree. Mr. Burton does not claim for the Belle that she will supersede. Beauty. On the contrary, he wishes it distinctly understood that the Belle is put on the mar- ket as a companion and not as a rival of Beauty. There are men eminent in the trade who do not hesitate to give the Belle preference over Beauty; and while in some points this is well taken, the claim should not be made too sweeping. For in- stance, one distinguished mem- ber of the craft happily ex- pressed his enthusiasm for the Rose by saying, u There may be many 1 Beauties' in a ball room, but there is only one 'Belle'," and this is true enough in the double sense, but it must not be taken as meaning that the Beau- ty has been eclipsed, because there is a distinct place for both varieties, and each can fill its own alloted sphere. 25 cents each; large two - year - old plants, 60 cents each. THE GOLD MEDAL ROSE, Jubilee. Its wealth of color, a pure red in its deepest tone, shading to deep crimson red and velvety maroon red in the depths of the petals. "The coloring is alive," as one expressed it. " It fairly glows in its rich warmth of col- oring," another said. The rich, velvety finish to the petals is all its own, and is not even ap- proached by any other Rose yet introduced. It is admirable, unique, and as Mr. F. Schuyler Matthews, the celebrated artist, said, "This Rose contains the darkest color, combined with pure color, of which nature is capable." It required centuries and the skill of the world's hy- bridizers to produce this peer- less Rose, perfect in all its attri- butes, peerless in its magnificent color, and it is fair to assume that it will again require the centuries to produce its equal— if it ever is produced—for nature is not prolific in repetitions. 15 cents each; large two-year- old plants, 50 cents each. SPECIAL OFFER.—The Four Red Roses for 75 Cents. In Large Size, the Four for $2.00.
