China The "APPLE BLOSSOM" Rose. A nevr, hardy. Ever-blooming Climbing Uose that blooms the first seasonâearly, late and all tke timeâproducing flowers which in form and color resem- ble Apple Blossoms. : : : : wrmlTHOUT exception one of the Wl most valuable and popular Roses now offered. It possesses remarkable features found in no other climbing- Rose. It is a true, erer-blooming climbing Rose, pro- ducing its flowers the first season, and continually throughout the year, from May until December. It is absolutely hardy, having withstood a tem- perature of sixteen de- grees below zero unpro- tected. and without injury. It grows al- most as fast as a Morning Glory, young plants throwing up numer- ous canes ten to fifteen feet the first year. The original plant, brought from China, now covers the entire front of a large dwell- ing. Ithas splendid foliage, which is entirely free from Dlight, mil- dew and othei diseases that some- times attack outdoor Roses. The flowers, in form, color and fra- grance, bear a striking similarity to Apple blossoms. In the bud the color is a soft, dark red, and as the flower expands, the col- or changes to a lighter red or pink, like the color found in an Apple blossom. This variety is exceedingly free - flowering. As the plant increases in age and size the number of flowers it pro- duces is something wonderful. We have seen on a well-estab- lished plant hundreds of buds and blooms, presenting a truly beauti- ful sight. This is surely the Rose for the masses. It needs but little attention and no protection what- â ever. During seven months of the vear it will give a profusion of bloom. Will grow in almost any situation. Perfectly hardy. There ⢠has been some compiaint that the plant does not bloom as profusely as it should and is capable of. A point to be observed is, zt back as it blooms, which treatment will cause new blooming shoots to ap- pear. The flowers are borne on the new growth. Prire, strong plants, 20 cents each: three for 60 cents; large two-year-old plants, with strong shoot s and beary roots, 60 c«nts each. NEW ROSE, ^ 9 ^ White Marechal Neil.
Text Appearing After Image:
Identical with its famous parent, save color. The fame ot Marecnal Neil, with its large, deep, golden-yellow flowers, is so world-wide that nothing further need be said of this new variety to make it instantly popular than that it is the exact counterpart in every respect of Marechal Neil, its parent, save the color of flower, which is a pale creamy-white. Totally distinct. This remarkable variety is selling at enormous prices in Europe, where it originated. We consider ourselves fortunate in possessing some of the original stock plants procured direct from the introducer, from which our stock has been propagated. It i s a r and quickly makes a bush of considerable proportions. For Southern cultivation it willl)e of great value, and as a companion plant to Marechal Neil we anticipate a splendid demand for it. Price, Strong three-inch pot plants, 80 cts. each; two for 60ct8.; Urge two-year-old plants, Sl.OO each. EMPRESS or CHINA.
