the McGregor bros. co., Springfield, ohio. 15 PLANT DEPARTMENT Roses. We have here only a partial list of our roses, but it includes about all the leading and most desirable varie- ties. Do not fail to add some roses to your order, as this is a good time to buy. Roses.
Text Appearing After Image:
PINK AND RED LA FRANCE. The Famous Trio, the White, Yellow and Red MARECHAL NIEL. The Beautiful White Marechal Niel. The fame of Marechal Niel, with its large, deep, golden- yellow flowers, is so world-wide that nothing further need be said of this new variety to make it instantly popular than that it is the exact counterpart in every respect of Marechal Niel, its parent, save the color of flower, which is pure white. Price, 15 cents; large two-year-old plants, 30 cents. iThe Superb Yellow Marechal Niel. A Rose so famous as to rearly require no description. Its magnificent golden-yellow buds are worn the world ovef they illustrate the globular form in its last perfection, and are almost massive in dimensions. Price, 10 cents; large two- year-old plants, 30 cents. Pink La France. We have always given this the first place—the Queen of Roses. Accounts come to us from all quarters every year describing the great profusion of its bloom from June until frost, and extolling its fra- grance and immense size. It is of superb form, and double as a Rose can be. No variety can surpass it in delicate col- oring—silvery-rose shades, with pink. It has a satin sheen over all its petals. It is most uni- versally regarded as the most useful of Roses, for it is hardy beyond question. It blooms continuously. The flower is large, finely built, endures for a great length of time, is ex- quisitely colored and fragrant in the highest degree. Price, 10 cents each; large size, 30 cents each. Red La France, (Or Duchess of Albany.) We have no hesitancy in say- ing to our customers that this Rose stands at the head of all Roses, not excepting La France. What we wish to impress is the fact that as a Rose for all purposes it has no peer. It is identical with La France, ex- cepting in three points. Those are: A more vigorous growth, a larger and more expanded flower, and a deep, even pink in color; not shaded, but what is called a solid color. Price, 15 cents; large size, 30 cents. White La France. (Augustine Guinnoiseau.) Here we have a beauty indeed, one we recommend to all, whether for out-door culture or for pots in the house in winter. If you were to ask us to select six of the very fin- est Roses for you, we should be sure to include it in the six. Do you know La France? If so, you know this elegant new Rose. It is identical with La France, except the color. It is pearly-white, sometimes tinted with fawn. We prediet for it far more popularity than La France ever attained. Don't fail to get this new Rose. Price, 15 cents; large size, 30 cents. SPECIAL. OFFER: The Four La France Roses for 40 cts., two-year size, $1.00. The Wonderful Red Marechal Niel. For years we have had the much-admired and ever-popu- lar Yellow Marechal Niel, and recently to it was added the White Marechal Niel. But now, to cap the climax, that famous German Rosarian, Peter Lambert, has brought out the Red Marechal Niel, a fitting companion to the other two and completing a most desirable trio. The Red Marechal Niel is the result of a cross between the ever- gorgeous Gen. Jacqueminot and the Yellow Marechal Niel. Flowers are large, well-shaped, full, and of the form of Yellow Marechal Niel in the bud and open flower; color carmine-red, shading to pink; fragrance delightful. Price, 15 cents; large two-year-old plants, 30 cents. SPECIAL OFFER:—The Famous Trio for 30 cents. Large two-year-old Plants for 75 cents.
